Rac Khong Thai – Waste Rescue Mission Project
The project The Rac Khong Thai Waste Rescue Mission project first started in Feb 2019, SCG Chemicals (SCGC) and LSP joined the Public-Private Collaboration or PPC with MONRE, Dow Vietnam, and Unilever Vietnam to drive a circular economy for plastics waste management in Vietnam. Under PPC, SCGC and LSP committed to creating waste segregation at source models for schools and residential in Long Son commune.
The Rac Khong Thai Waste Rescue Mission project reflects LSP’s commitment to sustainability and responsible corporate citizenship. By fostering effective waste management practices and promoting circular economy principles, we aim to create a positive impact on the environment and the communities we serve. Waste Segregation at Source – School Model
Timeline: 2020 – Present
Highlights:
- Initiated in 2020 with initial schools: Long Son 1 Primary School, Long Son 2 Primary School (pause during COVID-19 pandemic).
- May 28, 2023: Official handover of the waste segregation model to initial schools, Long Son 1 Primary School, Long Son 2 Primary School.
- June 2023 – Present: Expand to all 5 schools in Long Son (Long Son 1 Primary School, Long Son 2 Primary School, Bach Dang Secondary School, Huong Duong Kindergarten School, and Tuoi Tho Kindergarten School).
- To date (July 2024): Successfully collected 6.5 tons of recyclable waste.


Waste Segregation at Source – School Model
Timeline: 2020 – Present
Highlights:
- Initiated in 2020 with initial schools: Long Son 1 Primary School, Long Son 2 Primary School (pause during COVID-19 pandemic).
- May 28, 2023: Official handover of the waste segregation model to initial schools, Long Son 1 Primary School, Long Son 2 Primary School.
- June 2023 – Present: Expand to all 5 schools in Long Son (Long Son 1 Primary School, Long Son 2 Primary School, Bach Dang Secondary School, Huong Duong Kindergarten School, and Tuoi Tho Kindergarten School).
- To date (July 2024): Successfully collected 6.5 tons of recyclable waste.

Waste Segregation at Source – Residential Model
Timeline: 2022 – Present
Highlights:
- 5 June 2022: Kick off the waste segregation residential model with Hamlet 1. The activities include knowledge sharing with households and conducting Green Day events for waste exchange.
- December 10, 2023: Handover of the waste segregation model to Hamlet 1.
- 2024: Expand to Hamlet 2 and 3
- To date (July 2024): Successfully collected 11.1 tons of recyclable waste.

- 2024: Collaborated to implement the temple model at Nha Lon Temple
- To date (July 2024): Successfully collected 197 kg of recyclable waste

Rac Khong Thai at LSP Office:
- Pilot model at LSP admin building in 2024: Successfully collected 791 kg of recyclable waste. We are going to expand our efforts to include the collection of recyclable waste from all office buildings at LSP complex.
- Pilot model at LSPC Office in 2024: Successfully collected 500 kg of recyclable waste. The pilot model at LSPC Office is expected to serve as a starting point for the adoption of the waste separation model in other areas.
- Expand the model to Long Son Border Guard in June 2024.
