LSP and VNL Conduct Emergency Response Drill for Fire and Oil Spill at Hydrocarbon Jetty, Ensuring Commitment to Safety and Environmental Protection

On February 27, 2025, Long Son Petrochemicals Co., Ltd. (LSP), in partnership with Vina Logistics JSC (VNL), carried out an emergency response drill at the Hydrocarbon Jetty, focusing on fire and oil spill scenarios. The drill aimed to strengthen emergency preparedness, ensuring quick and effective action in case of real-life incidents.

The drill exercise began at 9:00 AM, simulating a Naphtha leak during the unloading process from a vessel and igniting the leaked Naphtha, causing a fire and an oil spill of approximately 10 cubic meters into the sea. LSP’s emergency response team acted immediately, following isolation & emergency response procedures and triggering to response partner. At the same time, VNL was alerted and quickly sent firefighting vessels and an oil spill response team to help contain the situation.

With over 40 participants from LSP and VNL, the drill involved 2 firefighting boats, one oil spill response boat, and specialized emergency equipment. The goal was to improve teamwork, speed, and coordination between ERT, port operations, and VNL while testing the effectiveness of response plans and equipment.

This drill highlights LSP and VNL’s commitment to safety and environmental protection. It reinforced awareness of fire and oil spill risks, sharpened response skills, and ensured that all teams are well-prepared for emergencies.
