Long Son commune, 28 May 2023 – SCGC and LSP collaborated with LSPC continued to implement waste segregation at source towards circular economy at hamlet 1 of Long Son, after kick-off this project in June 2022.
At the event, communities from hamlet 1 were educated and encouraged to segregate wastes into 3 types; green bin for organic waste, orange bin for recyclable waste and yellow bin for other types of waste. Also, there was a workshop teaching how to make fertilizer from organic waste.
This waste segregation – community model that we are now piloting at hamlet 1 is part of commitment of SCGC and LSP within Public Private Collaboration (PPC) program towards a circular economy in plastic waste management. SCGC and LSP not only aim to raise the awareness of Circular Economy (make-use-return) by segregating waste at source but also to create a sustainable waste management program as a blueprint that the other communities can duplicate.
