SCGC and LSP successfully handover the waste segregation at source – school model to 2 pilots school in Long Son

Long Son commune, 28 May 2023 – SCGC and LSP, led by Mr. Noppon Summaprasit, Pre – commissioning Director – Downstream, hosted “Handover Ceremony of Waste Segregation at Source towards Circular Economy – School Model” to Long Son 1 and 2 Primary School.

The Waste Segregation at source – School Model is an activity under SCGC’s commitment in the Public Private Collaboration (PPC) that SCGC joined with the Ministry of National Resources, Dow Vietnam, and Unilever Vietnam to build a circular economy in plastic waste management in Vietnam. The projects were piloted at Long Son 1 and 2 Primary school since 2020 to educate the students in waste segregation and encourage for the actions both at school and at home. There are 2,700 students, 120 teachers being trained and around 2,000 kg of recyclable waste being collected and recycled.

Mr. Noppon Summaprasit shared that “For LSP, we believe that the handover ceremony today is not the end of the program but the significant step of a sustainable waste segregation actions at these 2 schools. The accomplishment of the waste segregation over the past 2 years not only showing us that waste has value if we segregate it properly, but it also shows us that with a small action from each of us, we can together create a more sustainable future for the country and our world.”
