The drill at Long Son Petrochemicals was conducted to enhance awareness and responsibility across all levels of government, chemical companies, and local communities. The exercise aimed to proactively prevent chemical incidents and ensure effective preparedness and response in case of a chemical emergency.

The drill was based on worst-case scenarios, including chemical spills, rescues, and community evacuations. These complex scenarios were challenging to be handled by internal teams alone and required support from numerous provincial forces and organizations, such as the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Police, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Health, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, military units and the Cai Mep Emergency Mutual Aid Group. The drill extended over a prolonged period and required participating units to manage situations with the highest level of expertise. It involved the support and mobilization of forces, vehicles, and equipment from different departments and organizations in the province, with over 150 participants from the responder team within Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, utilizing more than 20 specialized firefighting and rescue vehicles of various types.

LSP consistently strives for operational excellence with a focus on safe operations, environmental friendliness, and the well-being of surrounding stakeholders. At LSP, safety and environmental protection are always the top priorities. The complex is fully equipped with internationally advanced safety technologies, including firefighting equipment and a highly competent and skilled firefighting team. Also, for the environment, LSP has invested more than 100 million USD in environmental protection technologies to ensure no impact on the environment and surrounding communities.
